You know the story. Late in his career he figures out the importance of 'starting earlier' and puts up huge power numbers. This began in 2010....and has continued through today....with the exception of last year when he missed quite of bit of time due to injury. Power is still there....but that average is taking a dive. Why?

He starts early......just like he said......but does he really? Does it do any good to start early but stall?

The answer is yes but no.

It won't affect his power as much as his average. When he starts early and gets a good pitch to hit....one that 'fits' within his rhythm and timing....he will drive it.

But when he starts early and has to adjust.....to speed......or location......he can't do it with any consistency.

The stall is why.

More later.
