Crankermo's daughter....doesn't have separate upper body and lower body actions.
She has a FULL BODY action. She stretches the upper against the lower. There is no such thing as a good upper body but a bad lower body. There is no such thing as a good lower body but a bad upper body. THEY BOTH HAVE TO BE DOING THE SAME THING....IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS....to get the STRETCH.
The stretch is the goal. You can not possibly evaluate JUST an upper body....or JUST a lower body. The work TOGETHER....to achieve a goal.
Teaching one without the other is futile. To say 'we're going to work on her upper body'.....is nonsense. It is impossible to achieve the correct upper (or lower) body without working on BOTH.
What must be worked on....and achieved....is HIP SOCKET SEPARATION......STRETCH INSIDE THE HIP SOCKET.
INTERNAL ROTATION OF THE REAR LEG....against....the HIP COIL.
Did you catch that....yep....it is true....THE HIP IS PART OF THE UPPER BODY....the leg is the LOWER BODY.
HIP/BACK/SCAP....versus....the rear leg.
Learn to swing WITH YOUR BACK....not your chest.
You can't do that by working on JUST one and not the other.
