.....yet it performs a vital role. A role missing in this clip....

....and that is why he must unload his scap to create forward force.....the dreaded push.

'They' like to create strawman arguments. Without them they'd have to STFU. Because they can't refute what is actually taught here.

Justin Stone came to St. Louis and spent an afternoon with me in April. He does not understand the role of the scap. His definition of pinch really misses the mark. What he teaches....he did not get from me. In his new instructional series.....EVERY HITTER SHOWN PUSHES THE BARREL FORWARD. All of them unload their scap.

The role of the scap is simply to take out slack....so the energy, from the leg, which breaks the SnF at barrel turn, reaches the barrel. If the scap doesn't remove the natural slack that exists by the it's tendency to 'flop around'.....or worse yet.....push forward....the energy will dissipate....bleed....thoughout the torso.....instead of going straight to the barrel. Most of it will not reach the barrel.

What happens at the scap/spine junction is of critical importance. That must be controlled.

Watch Michael Wacha pitch....or any high level hitter hit.....and see what they do with their scap. They create a system similar to bent, but not creased sheet metal, snapping back to form.

What loads unloads.

If you load your scap....you will unload your scap.

Unloading the scap is the definition of a forward barrel push swing.

No high level hitters push their barrel.
