Coil/Stretch/Separate....3 separate loading moves promoted by those, some of which are now seeking forgiveness....3 sequential steps.....what they call 'in sequence'.....shows the lack of understanding of how a hitter loads.
In fact....all 3....are the same thing. Coiling is separating and stretching. Stretching happens when you coil and separate. To separate you coil and stretch. In fact coiling is separating.
Coiling starts when the rear hip socket coils rearward against the leg. When you've coiled you've separated. It continues as the back muscles pull back and the scap is pinched/clamped. The entire process is coiling....pulling back.....against the antagonist.....the leg. When you coil you stretch. When you coil you separate.
What you're being sold is an attempt to cover up things they don't understand. Their attempt to call it sequencing....and their 'out of sequence' analysis....consistently misses the mark. You can sequentially perform their steps.....properly....and never get a SnF load. They continually call what is NOT allback/allforward....allback/allforward. They don't understand just what the load is.
They live on the surface. They have never opened the hood. They have never SnF'd. They don't understand what must happen. They don't 'get' that the hands get connected to the leg....as everything between gets fused. They don't get that once stretched, any movement of the leg moves THE BARREL. They can't do that....even after performing their steps. They still are full of slack.
They LOVE movement. They want to see MOVEMENT. They want to see body parts moving. They can't analyze until they see movement. They don't understand that you can separate and not see it visually.....but that the launch will tell you if it was there. It will CLEARLY be evident in the launch. Until they see movement they aren't happy. Yet.....movement is just slack removal. Not until slack is removed can stretch happen. And hitters remove slack differently. Some like to 'flow'....and show it. Others simply remove it by tensing certain muscles with very little visual movement. Seeing the hips turn forward first.....OH HOW THEY LOVE THAT....yet....their hitters never get stretched. The claim "the hips led". On the surface they did. But at launch they don't. They saw the hips move first....so they're happy....but all they did was freewheel. Their hips freewheel....and their leg never drives.
Until your back muscles are pulling back constantly and continuously.....AS and AFTER the range of motion limit is reached....you have no stretch.
They SO want you to believe them.....but they have this one issue that continues to dog them.....NOT ONE....of their hitters....match high level video.

Teacherman started a blog post Is There Anything More Ridiculous Than Coil/Stretch/Separate?
They 'settle for' surface slack removal movement that looks similar.....even though the launch tells them that something is not right.
The pro, that they were looking at, did 'something else', as/after that movement that they love. Their hitter does not do that. But they are convinced their hitter was 'in sequence'.....even though the pro whipped his bat and their hitter pushed theirs.
The high level load of a high level hitter can not be described as a three part sequence of coil/stretch/separate. The load is quite simple....yet 99% will never find it on their own. It is simply stretch. It is simply pulling back against resistance.....constantly....continuously....until AFTER launch. The 'coil' part give a clue about WHAT stretches....but they leave out the rest of what causes stretch. They are looking at movements they see. They can't tell you WHAT is causing what they see.
It is the bow string against the bow. It is the band against the sling shot handle. It is the bending of the bent sheet metal. And most of that goes unseen.....because at some point....there is no movement. And it is at THAT point....that their coil/stretch/separate sequence analysis continually fails. They don't create a seamless change from load to unload. They coil/stretch/separate.....then give up the stretch part....if they ever really had it.....and push forward with their arms. They teach allback/allforward....by teaching their sequence. They will shout to the heavens that they don't.....yet.....watch their hitters. The point where load changes to launch....is VERY OBVIOUS in their hitters.
But you can't tell it in a high level swing.
And that is why they won't show clips of their hitters.
They want you to do their coil/stretch/separate.....AFTER BALL RELEASE.
If that isn't the biggest bunch of hokey pokey....if you can't recognize that nonsense....if you don't even have enough understanding of the time crunch a hitter is under....and you fall for that.....you get what you deserve....and you probably should try soccer.
A pitcher has a windup. He has all the time in the world to execute it....to get loaded....so as to throw the ball well.
A hitter has a windup. He has all the time in the world to execute it.....to get loaded....so as to release his barrel....fire his barrel suddenly.
The key is....the hitter, over time, learns to carve out the time he needs to execute his rhythmic load and swing....out of the pitchers delivery time....such that FIRE is timely.
To suggest that you do not coil/stretch/separate until AFTER pitch release.....is the biggest soccer recruitment tool ever.
The only thing I can think is that whoever makes this claim is suggesting that the undeniable movement before pitch release is something other than "coil". Semantics aside, all the movement must surely be about setting up the stretch that enables the fire so I'm not sure why the distinction about waiting until what might be too late to start a fully developed process.
