I'll tell you what it's doing....it's providing RESISTANCE at the pivot point....therefore....IN THIS SWING....his barrel doesn't drag.
But....because of what he teaches....that the hands do nothing....that the hands 'are just along for the ride'....it DRAGS in every two hand (normal) swing he takes.
He has been told since 2006 that the hands must turn the barrel....and that that barrel turn provides RESISTANCE that the body works against....to create the high level pattern. It is OBVIOUS.
IT IS TRUTH.
Yet.......ego denies it.
Be sure you understand DRAG. Drag has nothing to do with the speed of the barrel. It has to do with how quickly the barrel gets speed.

If you would just pick up a bat and swing to duplicate....you would learn how, on the left above, Bustos uses her top hand to provide RESISTANCE....which her body works against....and which causes her batspeed to be generated INSTANTLY....BEHIND her.
Do you see any batspeed behind her in her teaching demo?
Is it even possible to do what she's demonstrating and get instant batspeed behind her?
What is their goal, really?
When do you want the barrel to arc about your hands....against 95 baseball or 70 softball....?
Sooner?
