EDITED:
When you listen to poor advice from idiots....you get a poor swing.
You probably don't see it full speed....but....watch the slo mo clip.
4 FRAMES....of INDEPENDENT FORWARD HAND MOVEMENT....(darn near the length of an entire swing)....by Lakers....as AGon's and Bonds hands REMAIN AT THE ARMPIT/SHOULDER TIP.
Tell us again....about the hands and how important it is for them to move.
While you're at it....tell us again about the scap's role and the fused torso.
Laughing my butt off.
Lakers committed the Cardinal Sin.....he posted video. Video created by the brain trust (power outage) at bbd.....and....OH MY.....what a train wreck.
Do they EVER put swings side by side with high level hitters?

ORIGINAL POST:
That weight distribution simply will cut his career short. Leads to downward swing path that does not round up THROUGH THE ZONE....it rounds up AFTER the zone. It's not good for his future.
You've posted a much better left handed swing before.
Better put them side by side and investigate.
At least you are man enough to post clips.

Lakers GO move....which is the moment he starts his forward push....his point of no return....is the first frame of this video. He will have great difficlulty adjusting this swing....because of he has already decided WHERE the ball will be. And he does not have the ability to adjust to a different location effectively. His commitment move is to that spot....that spot that he decided on. BECAUSE that commitment move is ARM ACTION....the forward PLUNGE of the arms included with the barrel turn....it is very difficult to change that arm thrust to the ball when the ball moves....or when his initial commitment spot has been deemed off slightly....without degrading the swing. We've all felt how the swing degrades when making a late adjustment. Lakers will live with that. Since his arm thrust is powering his barrel....he can not make an effective adjustment often enough without degrading the swing itself. He may make contact. He may flare it. He may square one up. But the rate of quality adjustment is much lower....EXTREMELY LOWER....that the high level pattern offers.
Bonds and Brandon....have launched their barrel into a rearward arc. YET....heir hands HAVE NOT MOVED. If the pitch is where they expected....no problem....continue on. But if the pitch moves....or if they realize they misread the pitch....the arms are FREE to move the hands which moves the SPEEDING BARREL....to the ball....without degradation of the swing.
THIS IS HUGE.
When your arms are you POWER SOURCE AND YOUR DELIVERY MECHANISM....you can not adjust effectively.
But when your power source comes from the whip around the corner....the hands turning the barrel rearward AGAINST the IR'ing leg.....from behind the corner....with rearward speed....the arms are FREE....to JUST deliver.....they are free to make adjusting moves without degrading the swing.....because that elbow opening move is not a powering move.
Ball squaring is greatly increased.
Now....back to the frame counting. All three hitters made a decision to swing at roughly the same time. Of course, Bonds is definitely quicker. But....Lakers, even though his swing is 4-5 frames....as is Bonds....as is Brandon....he can not adjust effectively. Living and dying....making swing quality decisions based solely on frame count....the number of frames from launch to contact....it totally bogus. Because some swings adjust better WITHIN that frame count than others.
This arm swing of Lakers will not serve him well.
He's been told that since 2009 also. 5 years later.....no change.
CHECK MATEY.....again.
INDEPENDENT forward hand movement....in a quality swing....at a hitters BEST pitch....doesn't happen until follow through.
This kid has no swing....without independent forward hand movement....done by the arms.
That rear arm and scap forward push DRIVES his barrel. Nothing else DRIVES it.
