Summarizing The Lies
The above clips are all from the summer of '07
He had a monster summer with 7 HR's and he filled the gaps with doubles and triples.....after having NEVER hit a ball over a fence in his life. Went from nothing to everything....and got picked up to play weekend tournament ball. This came after my epiphany that occurred in Sep '06.....that epiphany at the time was simply "turn the barrel". We had no knowledge of SnF at that point....even though he was doing it.
This, the clip on the left is 9/07....
This was a day or two before he went back to college for the fall semester. He had a great summer. We went to the field for some bp....and he was pathetic. We thought....WTF happened. I started studying the video....and after a bit it jumped out at me.....
He was shifting then swinging.
Prior to that....his coil....and back....were pulling back against his forward momentum....AS....he moved out....KEEPING HIS WEIGHT BACK....and as a result....THE MISSING FRAMES WERE CREATED. In the bp clip....there was insufficient coil and back action as he moved out....therefore he lost control of his weight....weight got to his front foot....and at GO he had nothing,
So now the challenge was to make sure the timing of the coil and pull backs and the move out....were well synced. How much of each is necessary? When do you start one? When do you start the other? What seemed natural before....wasn't happening any more. So we went to work on it.
The clip on the right above....came about as we were working to find that stretch. It's much better....but not anywhere near the good clips. The missing frames were there....so we knew we were onto something. He was getting turned open by the rear leg WHILE HIS WEIGHT WAS STILL BACK. The shift then swing, at least, was gone....but....control of the weight is still not as good as it was in the game clips of that summer. His tempo is much quicker than before....and appears rushed. Forward momentum is too strong compared to the past.
At his college he played 3B and pitcher. He played behind a kid who was more athletic, stronger, quicker. But the difference was small, imo. A good performance in the fall of '07 could have made a difference. His first two years of college his PCR mechanics did not impress the coach. So, he needed to make a statement in the fallball season of '07. But....as you can see in the bp clip....he had lost what was so good that summer. We hadn't found the problem yet. Therefore, no such impression was made. When the spring came around the coach decided to use him as a pitcher. That was his last year of college baseball.
At this point....the goal became to find the right recipe. The right amount of forward momentum against the right amount of coil/pull back...to create the swing he had before.
And that brings us up to date with this clip....of swings that were originally posted to show some progress....yet....also the differences/problems that still existed.
Take note that 2 of the swings produced scorching line drives. One up the middle that one hopped the CF.....and the other a squared up line drive into left through the 5 hole.....even while not quite right. If you are 'in pattern'....whether perfect or not....the advantage of the TURNING THE BARREL....is ball squaring....versus slicing. Knob pullers....those who direct their barrel before it is turned....do not....can not....consistently SQUARE UP barrel and ball. But a good barrel turn will do that often....even if you're not perfect. In this clip....mixture still wasn't optimal....the recipe was heavy pull back and the governor was too strong....it held back the momentum too much. But....2 line drives.
The point the naysayers try to make....is that what I teach....is NOT what he was doing in '07 when he had his success. They claim that what I teach won't get him back to what he was. Well.....this is '10....
Clearly....that is the same pattern as the '07 clips. A much more controlled move out....similar tempo....same pattern....that includes the Missing Frames.
Brandon graduated from college in 3 1/2 years. Graduated in Dec 2008. Went to work immediately and continued his education. He now has a Masters in Human Resources AND an MBA. While he was in college, still pursuing the dream of playing in college, we hit at least 5 days per week. Most of the time 6. When the reality that his college days were over set it....the workouts went down to next to nothing. He gets excited about playing every April. They start their season every year without any practices. His first swings of the year are usually in a game. The first few games are his practice. Usually takes him a while....but he finds it. Probably not as good as '07....but he's productive. And....he's productive against fastpitch softball pitching....that is equal to and in some cases better than college baseball pitching when you consider the speed and the ball movement from a short distance.
When a naysayer creates a video of his work, that he is willing to share with you, you might listen. Until then....you are a FOOL to take advice from anyone who will not show their work. You're telling me....that it makes more sense....for you to follow a guy who will non-stop LIE about someone else's work....rather than show you video of his own work product? The reason he lies....is his work can't produce the video match that mine does.
The bottom line is...
You can do the RIGHT THING....even if not perfectly.
OR
You can do the WRONG THING.
It's YOUR son or daughter. If you want to put a ceiling on their potential....continue to avoid the truth.
The naysayers simply can not produce the Missing Frames....the Overlap.Tags: None

You WILL push the barrel forward. Your rear leg will push. Your hips will push. Your rear arm will push.
This pitcher is doing the same thing. He is pulling back and around with his arm and back...AS....he moves out....CAUSING....the rear leg to turn the rear hip/leg assembly forward. The power comes from the separation that develops within the rear hip socket....when you do the above. BOTH high level hitters and high level throwers....do this....with their weight back....TO KEEP THE WEIGHT BACK....until launch.
It is THE ABSOLUTE of the high level pattern.
