The topic is her hand path and how to fix it.

FiveFrameFraud's analysis....

You over cook turning the barrel when you arc it 'around' your rear forearm too long, or too late ... when you don't allow a sufficient transition from arcing the barrel 'around' your rear forearm to 'along' your rear forearm.
AllButHerFace....

As you start to un tip you are determining location and timing - this is direct then launch. At the same time you should be leveraging the sling systems so that your hands get whipped into launch. Middle out.
Dogleg....

she swings around her body.
The FACTS ARE.....her hand action is quite good. It will improve if she avoids the NONSENSE being told to her, but her barrel turn attempt is quite good. And that downward plunge of her arms happens because there is a power outage. What she gets from her lower body, to the barrel, is nil. Momentum only. Therefore that downward plunge is necessary to provide power.

Her down to and through hand path has NOTHING to do with her hands. It has NOTHING to do with a sling system or 'swinging from your middle' (as defined by AllButHerFace). And she IS NOT swinging around her body. Clearly she swings out from.

Her problem is she loses her weight....allows it to shift forward across her pelvis BEFORE LAUNCH....which PROHIBITS a pivot in the rear hip/leg. This creates a situation when she can only ROTATE HER HIPS....instead of PIVOT IN THE REAR HIP/LEG. That WIDENS the axis of rotation. That creates TWO MOVES instead of one. Because the energy supplied by the hip rotation is AWAY FROM the ball instead of INTO the ball she has to use her arms to get the barrel to the ball. AND....since the hip rotation is not into the ball....that arm movement is a POWERING move instead of just a guidance system. She has to fight AGAINST her hip rotation to get the barrel to the ball. That is two moves working in opposite directions. The hips are taking a hard left....as ALL HIP ROTATION DOES....which pulls her away from the ball....so her arms have to push forward to counter that.....leading to a trade off....instead of a build up of energy. She has no chance of getting a proper hand path as a result.

Unless and until you learn to pivot in the rear hip/leg....at the same time as....and at the same angle as....the hand pivot....you will never achieve the proper hand path. The angle of the rear hip pivot is quite adjustable IF YOU ARE ONE LEGGED. And it is absent in two leggers. Two leggers suffer from horizontal hip rotation. One leggers have the ability to pivot at an angle, which in conjunction with the hand pivot point means BOTH engines supply energy into the system. In fact, even though their angle of attack is the same....their directions are such that they work against each other initially in the SnF process....which builds up the stretch that allows BOTH to launch suddenly and with exponential force in the same direction into the ball. Two legged hippers have only ONE DIRECTION that their lower half can supply energy....and that direction is seldom into the ball. It is almost always the hard left for a righty and the hard right for a lefty. The hard left/right simply provides momentum....it can never turn the barrel at the proper angle....and that momentum is AWAY FROM THE BALL. ALWAYS. Right it down. Memorize it. Learn from it.

HIP ROTATION is prevalent in all amateur swings....and TOTALLY ABSENT in the high level pattern.

If this girl will do everything she currently does....but launches from one weighted leg....and develops a rear hip/leg pivot....instead of hip rotation....her hand path becomes high level instantly. All energy production will go INTO the ball. She will swing with ONE MOVE instead of two.

Some rear hip/leg pivots to view.

Compare her forward weight slide to the pivot of the two pros above.

Now....watch this weight slide....

The weight slide is not as pronounced as the girl's, but it is there. Slide it forward THEN launch. Slide it forward the rotate the hips. Get weight to the front leg first....THEN launch. That weight shift first then swing....is the reality....the automatic reality....of Direct then Launch teaching. It IS WHAT THEY TEACH....but are afraid to call it what it is. They KNOW it is wrong....yet keep teaching it....as their kids continue to fail. Insanity. You can see and feel it quite easily in this swing....

And it is quite obvious, when compared to the pros, that what lilchappedass has been taught is garbage. Garbage in. Garbage out. Yet....the author claims what his son does is high level. He LOVES that sweeping hand path....created by....the two hip two leg hip rotation. He LOVES the shift then swing mechanic....THAT IS A RESULT OF ALL HIP ROTATION TEACHING. It is an absolute fact of two legged two hip[ed rotation. It is undeniable. It is automatic in that mechanic. The ALWAYS shift weight before they launch. Yet....as you can see....the high level pros do not. Shift then swing is also automatic in any (and there are now several because they know they are wrong) version of BB/A$$.
